You need to get a third party involve. You need to write another letter but this letter is not to the insurance company it is a formal complaint to your financial ombudsman service.
What is the Financial ombudsman service, this is an independent service whose role is to settle complaints between you and your financial company.
The cost is completely free and they will adjudicate on whether the reclaim you are making should be paid out or not. You will need to convince them that your policy was sold unfairly, but don’t send a letter to the Ombudsman right away, you need to give the financial company time to respond, the amount of time is at least eight weeks. But be warned that it takes awhile for the Ombudsman to see your case, don’t be surprised if it takes a year or longer before it is settled.
