PPI – How To Claim Back Mis-sold PPI

So you were swindled into getting a PPI, or payment protection insurance, now you want to know how to get the money back.

You paid on an insurance that you didn’t ask for or need; therefore you should get those funds back. There are several steps that you can take to start your claim. The first is looking at your policy.

Check your policy for the start date, if it’s older but still active, or if it ended over six years ago. If you need your paperwork, contact your lender and request copies.

The second step is to look at the PPI checklist: were you told that it was the law, was the PPI added on without you knowing it, were you told or sold the wrong thing, if you were employed or self-employed, have you had any medical problems in the past, and was your lender already fined. The third step is to write to your lending company, many people will get a payout easily from the company but will have to complain more than once. The fourth step is to write to the Ombudsman, who handles complaints between people and businesses. This should lead to you getting your claim.
