Should You Use A PPI Claims Company Or Do It Yourself?

If you have been mis-sold on your PPI policy, filing a claim is the only way to obtain a refund from the lender. When considering filing a claim, you can either file on your own, or use a claims company to file on your behalf. Depending on the claim, time it will take to file, the complexity of the claim, and how big of a claim it is, you can file on your own.

If the claim is fairly simple, and you are sure that you have been mis-sold by a lender, filling out the paperwork on your own, and actually filing the claim is a straight-forward process.

It gets complicated if you have been denied a claim, or if you have appealed a claim and the Ombudsman Services denies your appeal. In such a case, hiring a claims company to go through the process of re-filing a claim, or disputing a denied claim might be a better option. The claims company will have dealt with many individuals who have gone through the same process you are going through; therefore, they are experts in the area, and know how to properly file these claims. The more complex a claim, the better of you are hiring a claims company.
